"I had very limited time to lock down a place before my relocation from Dallas to NYC. I scoured Craigslist in preparation, and that was a borderline waste of time; not a realistic representation of what is available. During my limited free time, I also walked areas I liked in the hopes to find an apartment; an impossible task when you commute to NYC. Therefore, the only efficient option available was to use a broker. I spoke with several brokers, but Mariam Hager of Anchor Associates Chelsea was the most interested and helpful. She is patient, knowledgeable, and was able to easily articulate the need to compromise when searching for an NYC apartment. Mariam quickly narrowed down what I wanted, and worked around my schedule to show the units. It says a lot of a young professional, like Mariam, to take the time out of her Saturday afternoons and evenings to show available units to someone who may never follow through on her recommendations. The second to last place we visited Saturday evening was exactly what I was looking for, and within my budget. After deciding on the unit, Mariam walked me through the entire leasing process, and also managed the property manager's expectations.
